Kate Awarded Churchill Fellowship

Kate has been awarded a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship for her Carbon cycle project under the category 'Adventure, Exploration and Leaders of Expeditions'. The Fellowship includes a grant which will go a long way to covering Kate's travel and living costs.

The Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowships are designed "to enable men and women from all walks of life and every corner of the United Kingdom to acquire knowledge and experience abroad. In the process, they gain a better understanding of the lives and cultures of people overseas and, on their return, their expertise is enhanced greatly, as is their effectiveness at work and their contribution to the community."

Some 100 annual awards are made under a range of categories, which change each year. There are no conditions for entrance apart from being a British Citizen resident in the UK - Churchill Fellows can be of any background or occupation. Lack of qualifications is not a bar to an award as the applications are judged on the merit of the application and the individual. If you are interested in the awards visit http://www.wcmt.org.uk/
